Friday Friendship: Vulnerability Take 2

“In order to live your own authentic life, you have to follow YOUR inner GPS, not someone else’s. When others say, “You can’t do it!” or “That’s impossible,” don’t lose hope. Just because they couldn’t doesn’t mean you can’t. – via: http://www.marcandangel.com/

I have to follow-up with yesterday’s post because it has been brought to my attention that there is a follow-up video to the one I posted!

The key to overcoming shame is empathy.  Empathy is the ability to have charity and see people the way Christ would see them, and love them the way He would love them.

“But acharity is the pure blove of Christ, and it endureth cforever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, apray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true bfollowers of his Son, Jesus Christ” (Moroni 7:47-48).

Vulnerability is not weakness.  Vulnerability is the courage to face your shame and do what you fear anyway.  The capacity to be vulnerable is the ability to face challenges and failures without numbing our senses or giving in to the weakness, but to be completely authentic.

Vulnerability opens you up to receive the Atonement of Jesus Christ; it is the ability to allow grace to work in your life daily, in humility acknowledging the hand of God in your life, and saying, “I’m not perfect, even when I try, but I know His grace will attend me and make up for my weakness.”

Please watch: “The Power of Vulnerability

I’m not sure if my trouble is being authentic or if it’s loving with my whole heart…I don’t have anything to hide, I just doubt my worth sometimes…

Does that mean other people doubt my worth too?

How do you get over that and open yourself up to vulnerability, aka shame and fear, in order to experience a fulness of love and joy?
